Where can i get the vaccine?

Where can i get the vaccine?

Vaccines are available from Government and Private Health facilities known as COVID Vaccination Centres (CVCs).Here are some common FAQ’s regarding the COVID-19 Vaccine.

1.Are COVID-19 vaccines safe even though the Vaccines were developed arpidly ?

While COVID-19 vaccines were developed quickly, every precaution was taken to ensure that they were both safe and effective:

  • Approach to Development — Vaccines against viruses like the one that causes COVID-19 have been under development for many years. This information aided in the creation of the current COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Clinical Trials - To ensure that vaccinations are safe and effective, they must go through three phases of clinical trials in the United States. Phases of the COVID-19 vaccine development process overlapped to speed up the process, but all phases were completed.
  • Authorization or Approval - The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) evaluates the results of clinical trials before making vaccinations available to the general public. Three COVID-19 vaccines were found to meet FDA's safety and effectiveness standards and were issued Emergency Use Authorizations (EUAs). This allowed vaccines to be distributed promptly in order to contain the pandemic. The COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech (COMIRNATY) has now been approved by the FDAexternal symbol for people aged 16 and up. Learn more about the first COVID-19 vaccine to be approved by the Food and Drug Administrationexternal icon.
  • Production and Distribution – The US government has put a lot of money into manufacturing. As a result, vaccination distribution could begin as soon as each vaccine was approved by the FDA.
  • Using Vaccine Monitoring Systems to Track Safety – The COVID-19 vaccine safety monitoring has been the most intensive and thorough in US history. COVID-19 vaccinations have been given to hundreds of millions of people in the United States. The CDC and FDA continue to offer updated information on the safety of these vaccines through multiple monitoring systems.

2.What are the ingredients in COVID vaccine ?

Vaccine components differ depending on the manufacturer. There are no eggs, gelatin, latex, or preservatives in any of the immunizations. Metals such as iron, nickel, cobalt, lithium, and rare earth alloys are not present in any COVID-19 vaccination. They're also devoid of manmade materials like microelectronics, electrodes, carbon nanotubes, and nanowire semiconductors.

3.If i am pregnant or planning to get pregnant ,can i get a COVID-19 vaccine ?

COVID-19 vaccine is advised for all people aged 12 and up, including those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, attempting to conceive, or who may become pregnant in the future. COVID-19 vaccine is something you should discuss with your healthcare professional. While such a discussion may be beneficial, it is not required prior to immunization. Learn more about vaccine precautions for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

If you're pregnant and have gotten the COVID-19 vaccine, we recommend signing up for v-safe, the CDC's smartphone-based program that enables individualized health check-ins following vaccination. A register for v-safe pregnancies has been established.

4.Why should my child get vaccinated against COVID-19 ?

The COVID-19 vaccine can help protect your child from contracting the virus. Despite the fact that children have been sickened by COVID-19 at a lower rate than adults, children can be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, become ill from COVID-19, and transfer the infection to others. Vaccinating your child helps to safeguard both your child and your family. Vaccination is currently advised for all people aged 12 and up. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is now the only one available to children aged 12 and up.

COVID-19 vaccinations have been subjected to the most stringent safety testing in US history, with tests involving children as young as 12 years old.

5.How can we reduce the chances of getting infected with COVID-19 ?

Always remember that each and every one of us can reduce the chances of getting infected or spreading COVID-19 by taking simple precautions.

  1.  Wear a mask while going out.
  2.  Maintain social distancing
  3.  Use hand sanitizers
  4.  Avoid crowded places
  5.  When you return home wash your hands legs and face with water and soap
